Facade repair

Facade repair: we go further than pointing alone. On old and listed buildings we also repair damaged brickwork.

Why facade repair

On old and listed buildings, facades are often damaged because bricks have been broken by frost or crumbled by salt. In that case we repair not only the pointing but also the brickwork.

Sometimes a large part of the affected brickwork has to be replaced; in other cases, replacing a few matching bricks is enough.

We repair cracks with Thor Helical: spiral stainless steel bars that restore cracks structurally and almost invisibly. VMM Voegwerken is a certified installer of the Thor Helical system and of Thor Helical Air-Twist (renovation) wall ties.

We replace a sagging or rusting lintel safely, with temporary props and new brickwork above it.

We brick up a door or window opening in matching brick and bond, so the new brickwork blends into the facade.

We replace frost-damaged or crumbled bricks with matching ones, or replace individual bricks.

New sills set level and neatly pointed in, or old sills removed cleanly.
